How NuGlasgow works

What we cover

NuGlasgow covers Glasgow's planning applications and building warrants — new developments, extensions, changes of use, and the decisions made on them. We report only from official public records.

Where the information comes from

Our source material comes from Glasgow City Council's planning portal and building standards register, along with Historic Environment Scotland and Transport Scotland where relevant. We never scrape or republish content from private news sites — only official government publications.

How articles are made

An AI reads the planning documents for an application and drafts an article summarising what's being proposed or decided. Nothing is published automatically: a human editor reviews each draft before it goes live, and can approve it, send it back with feedback, or bin it.

Articles published from September 2026 carry a byline showing which AI model drafted them, which version of our writing prompt was used, and which editor approved them. Earlier articles predate the byline: their byline says so, because the model and approval were not recorded at the time.

What we keep

We keep a full record of every AI output and every editorial decision made on it, so any article's history can be reviewed after the fact.

Images

Renders and drawings shown alongside articles come from the applicants' own planning submissions and are credited to the relevant application.

Privacy

Private individuals named in consultation responses are given pseudonyms in our coverage. Applicants' contact details are held as part of the public record but are never published on the site. See our privacy policy for more.

Corrections

If you spot something wrong in one of our articles, we want to know. Corrections are made in the article itself and noted at the foot of the piece. Email hello@nuglasgow.site, or use the feedback button in the corner of any page.
